The times they are a-changin’
Hi ,
So sang Bob Dillon and believe it or not, March and April are months that are all about change. Finally, after the doom and gloom of winter, the days become longer and spring becomes a very real possibility; Lent gives way to Easter and there are new shoots everywhere, from flowers to business ideas. These things happen every year and are – in their way – constants, but each marks change in our worlds.
And change can be a scary word… even to entrepreneurs whose very reason for being is often yes, you’ve guessed it, to change the world! But the need for change, to evolve, to grow is vital for us founders to move forward. It’s easy to forget those heady days when you first established your company and you felt inspired and excited about what you were going to achieve and what you were going to do – but it’s that very feeling of newness and wanting to change that we need to hang on to. Our happy place, if you like.
If we remember how that feels and how vital it seemed to us to bring change about, we can learn to embrace the future and – to some extent – the unknown. We can once more push ourselves out of our comfort zone. After all, we’ve all worked hard to get this far, to understand the required space between ourselves and our businesses, to work out what growth means to us and how to channel our energies into that growth.
The world is not going to stand still, so why should we?
Vive la Change! Want to learn more? To understand more about why change can sometimes scare the pants off us, take a look at our new blog here Can a leopard change its spots – and if science is more your thing and you want to really understand how our brains process it and why we don’t always succeed at making change, take a look at our guest blog Why change fails from Arjen Hoven
Wishing you a successful beginning to spring and I hope one of our BLOGs on the challenges of change can help us all understand why it's a human challenge and maybe even inspires us to accept its beauty just as nature shows us right now.

Behind the scenes: with podcasting

This month hailed the beginning of a new career twist for me – as a guest on various business podcasts. For my first appearance, I was part of a panel tasked with answering the question: "How do you keep a high performance mindset in a fast moving world?" Jess Dewell, Managing Partner of Red Direction, a company that supports growth through mission and purpose of companies (so of course I loved it!) led the conversation and, I had a great time! I’m hoping it was equally inspiring for the audience! I am now preparing for my next guest appearances on these upcoming podcasts: The winning Zone, Grow A Small Business and Straight Talk, No Sugar Added. So, if you are interested in key thoughts on purpose-led growth and the stories that support it in some way (or whether I obey my post-it note and resist babbling), I will promote them over the next few months over LinkedIn and Instagram and place them on my Spotify playlist.

"In her own words.." from Shapol Majid, founder of Mamosa, connecting the world through opportunity.

Wyseminds has been working with Shapol Majid for the past three months and what a fabulous journey it has been so far:
"Being an entrepreneur is one exhilarating ride! Wyseminds has given me a new perspective and has allowed me to see the bigger picture before diving headfirst into the next phase. It's like a game-changer for me, and I feel it deep down in my bones "
The journey has just begun for Shapol as she begins to finalise how to move onto the next wave of growth with a greater clarity and focus in the right direction, ready for investment and support from the right partnerships. Soon we will tell Shapol’s full story, but for now if you find yourself at the end of the first growth wave, perhaps feeling stuck and frustrated, or like Shapol, just wanting to get advice on how to find the right next step join Your Journey, details below.

Recommend and win I am really proud of all the entrepreneurs who have started their journey with Wyseminds and last year I asked if you could help to support the female entrepreneurs of the future by joining our Wyseminds Alumni Referral Programme. By sharing your knowledge, wisdom and experience – whether that be good or bad, high or low – you can offer crucial insight to other women, who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of the next right step. Not only will you be doing them a good service, you will also earn your very own Wyseminds brownie points towards coaching sessions and other perks. What’s not to love? For more information, take a look at the programme, here.
