Dear ,

How small seeds of trust grow into big business gains
Spring is here and that usually means more of it in your step as we hope for brighter days. But if the unseasonably chilly weather we've been having is slowing you down, just remember there's plenty of time for reinvention, positivity and hope. For now, the most important thing to learn about is trust… and more than trusting that Spring will at some point arrive!
Trust is crucial in business, far more than just a hidden tool built on good intentions and hopeful thinking. It's a powerful force that truly drives success, a tangible force that entrepreneurs can actively cultivate to influence their growth journey.

Developing a conscious trust

Think about your business journey so far in 2024, a typical rollercoaster of thrills and spills no doubt. Consider the role you have played and the decisions that sometimes have to be made in a moment.

How have you made choices? Have they bought what was needed or added to your to do list? Think about the decisions you've made: Have they been merely reactive, or have they strategically contributed to your objectives?

Learning how to trust yourself and your company and turning this usually hidden strength into something clear and powerful, is an important part of seamless growth. Trust not only enhances relationships but also fosters a positive business environment where creativity and innovation can thrive.

Having trust that spring will arrive is perhaps one of hope, but having the trust in yourself to make the right choices for problem-solving, growth, and creating a joyful to-do list is within our power.

Have a fabulous Spring and if you are interested in learning about how to create the power of trust read more about our current masterclass in May.

In next week’s Wyseminds Masterclass on 16 and 21 of May, Henk Jansen and I will be delving into some of the business methods we use with founders to help them learn how to develop this essential emotion so they can witness its transformative effect in the way they operate their business and the growth they achieve as a result.

The dictionary definition of trust is: “A firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something”. Trust means having confidence in people and believing somebody is good, sincere and honest. It forms the bedrock of all meaningful relationships, personal or professional, and is the invisible thread that binds people together, fosters mutual respect and cooperation in working towards a common goal.

For you, the founder, the firm belief you had in your product or service, and in yourself to deliver it, was exciting when you first launched your business. It energised and galvanised you into action and underpinned your motivation as your customer base grew. But having a “firm belief in the reliability, truth or ability of someone or something” is altogether different and far from easy to develop. It takes time and effort to nurture trust and it all starts with you!

The Masterclass will show you foolproof methods for unravelling the complicated thoughts and unwanted emotions that may be keeping you stuck. Our approach rests on the belief that things are solved and created from a base of purpose. Learning to trust is the first step towards this, and once you master it, you'll notice a ripple effect of positivity throughout your business as it frees the path for flow.

Make this Spring a time to sow the seeds of trust and watch them grow into big gains for your company. Re-evaluate and reinvent your business harnessing the positive power of trust. Sign up to our Growth begins with you Masterclass here.

Springing into the power of trust

A frequent question we hear is, “why do I feel frustrated with my business when I was so passionate about it at the start?”

It’s a common problem among all the founders we work with. And it starts the instant you get your very first customer, team member or supplier – in other words, the moment your business starts growing. You’re mired in detail and trying to do everything yourself because you can’t let go and allow others a decent look in. When you’re the decision maker, peacemaker and tea-maker of your company, it's a sign that your inability to trust has become a major barrier to your business growth. The message we convey is that very often other people can do equally as good a job, if not better, than you, the founder, can.

You need to free yourself from the trap of being all things to all people and that goes hand-in-hand with trusting in the processes and people around you. Take it from Loviisa Vahavuori, one of the women entrepreneurs who’s come to Wyseminds for coaching. When we first began working with Loviisa, she was “overwhelmed and stuck”, but has now learnt the hidden power of trust in how she runs her company Napp.
“I’m working on separating myself from my company through delegation,” she says. “Everything I need to make my business a success has been in me all along. I just had to get rid of my unhelpful beliefs which Wyseminds helped me do.”

Stepping away from the day-to-day minutiae of operations and trusting other people to help run your company allows you to do the job you do best: evolving your business and achieving the growth you initially set out to do.

Up ahead this summer

We're pleased to announce that this summer we’ll be launching level 2 of the Your Journey programme, who are you doing it for.. This online support programme promises to provide a range of educational tools and thought-provoking content that will support you to align your purpose, values and customer, to understand who the real hero is and how to create and alignment for future growth.

Plus, we’re once again teaming up with Sandra Boekhoudt, founder of wealthywisewomen.com for a 2024 Demystifying Money Matters course looking at women's attitude to money. The first workshops explored common misconceptions about money, and how they can so often hold back women entrepreneurs.

Watch this space for dates of both these events.
