You Can Only Have One Hero
Many of us start building our businesses to bring about change and do things better for specific groups of people. Last year, we launched "Growth Begins With You," an online Level 1 course designed to prepare founders for their next wave of growth.
We wanted to begin with the approach that says goodbye to 80% of the common frustrations founders face when thinking about growth, and break through the barriers to achieve (and keep) the freedom and fulfillment that are so important for founder motivation.

Now, with Level 2, it's time to ask: Who are you doing this for? This module focuses on strengthening your relationship with your customers so you can continue your journey of freedom and fulfillment. While we cover essential steps like segments, personas, and value propositions (customer promise), true growth starts with understanding how you see your customer.

The key question is: “who is the hero?”

Is your customer the hero of your business journey, or are you the hero of theirs? Identifying who the hero is will ensure you take the right next step towards a seamless growth path.

How curiosity powers business growth

When your business life is an endless round of balancing and juggling, you may – quite rightly – consider yourself qualified to become a circus performer.

Great if that’s what you became a founder to do!

But if your original intention and purpose are still there, obscured by a pile of to-do tasks, chances are you could benefit by getting a little curious.
In business, developing a sense of curiosity helps kickstart a questioning process that moves you away from the small stuff that’s weighing you down to a place of space. And here’s where change happens and where circus skills are most definitely not required.
We wrote about the power of curiosity in driving business growth and, importantly, how to ask yourself the right questions here.

Heat wave growth wave
It’s heatwave season – why not use it constructively to review where you are and prepare your business for its next growth wave? How do you keep moving forward?

Every summer, I take time to reflect and ask myself an important question: "Am I still aligned with what I do?" Unlike the busy New Year period associated with resolutions and good intentions, summer provides the space and tranquility needed for constructive thinking and meaningful change. The longer days allow me to reassess my goals, make necessary adjustments, and position myself for new growth and opportunities.

As you enjoy the summer season, consider how you can engage in strategic reflection rather than mere wishful thinking. This summer, I plan to share my journey of reflection and the steps I take to ensure that by September, I am ready to begin new growth opportunities with greater clarity and purpose.

We liken growing a business to climbing Mount Everest. You start at base camp and as you go, you’ll encounter obstacles that will feel insurmountable. But with the right knowledge, you’ll discover that these blocks can be overcome. This summer, learn how your business can evolve and grow through my video diary journey where I’ll be living out my own course.

I hope it will inspire you not to give up if you’re experiencing any of the familiar hurdles on your way up the business growth mountain.
